I bought a jacket online that was described as “size large”, but when it arrived it was a size 14, alas too small for me, you can read all about it here . Today another jacket arrived in the post, this time it does fit, hurrah.
I’m going to embellish it with some of the dyed linens left over from the previous jacket.

I recently made a new page for my website with some ideas on how to use buttons.
When it was ready I asked my web designer (Steve) how to publish it and he said ” you publish it the same way you publish a blogpost ” and I thought hmmmm, ready made blogpost, so click here to see it, say I sent you …..

Unexpectedly, on Sunday, during an unseasonable heatwave, against all odds , I tidied the workbench where I do my sewing, for the first time in probably a year. It’s been piled high with stuff that I had been using to make brooches, scarves and bunting and dangling decorations. Rather than tidy up between jobs I shoved the craftermath further back on the table, creating just enough room to work on my next project.

T’other day I hung one of my handmade scarves over a blouse, for want of a spare hanger, That looks good, I thought, and it gave me an idea to decorate the blouse in the same way I would make a scarf.
I selected some colours of selvedge that I could use and set them aside.

This is my first blogpost since my website got updated and things look different, it looks much more plain, so I need to

Halfway through the eighth month already, even this unusual year with it’s unprecedented lockdowns and social distancing is galloping past at an alarming rate. It seems like only a few weeks ago since I took part in a a Valentine’s Heart Swap , you can read about it here
Well it’s time for another swap, this time called “Happy Houses” , I had to make 2 textile houses and send them to a partner, and I also received 2 from someone else.

My friend bought one of my scarves as part of the Artists Support Pledge , you can read about it at the bottom of this blogpost. She posted a photo of herself wearing it on Instagram. I loved the photo so I printed it out , doodlebombed it and posted it to her. I’ve asked other friends to send me photos to do as well.
